form 709 combining multiple gifts of cash to one entry

Can multiple gifts of cash be combined into one entry on the form 709? The answer to a similar question here was "yes" a few years ago, but with no reference. The form says to enter all gifts. Thank you in advance.

Yes, you're supposed to put all gifts on Schedule A with the date of each but you can combine them if all of the gifts are cash and put "various".
