Form 1041, estate open for more than 2 years

I am ready to file Form 1041 (for an estate/trust) electronically using Turbo Tax Business. However, I noticed that, Line 8 of the “Other Information” section  states “If the decedent’s estate has been open for more than 2 years, attach an explanation for the delay in closing the estate, and check here”. I am unable to find anywhere in Turbo Tax where an explanation can be entered. Please advise.

You won't be able to do this an e-file. You will have to attach it to a mail-in return.

First, thank you for the reply. Yes, I that may be the best solution for the user. But if that is the only solution, then it would seem that Turbo tax would already know this long before the user (after all, they are selling the #1 tax-preparation software in the country). And if they knew this, then they should have either not allowed the option to file electronically (accompanied by a clear explanation of why this is), or better yet, simply provide for the user a place to enter the requested explanation so that it can be included with the return. Of course, only a Turbo Tax representative could answer that one.

I agree.  There is nothing in TurboTax that brings up this question and the Federal Review misleads in saying there are no problems with the return.  How can there be no problem if an explanation for an estate being open more than 2 years is required?  The Federal Review should have noted this specifically.
