Filing as a simple LLC

I've already filed my personal taxes and now I want to file my single member LLC taxes with a schedule C form. Is this possible or did I make a mistake by not including it with my personal taxes. If I did can I do something to correct that?

Filing as a simple LLC

You need to amend your personal return. A single member LLC files a Schedule C (unless you elected to be taxed as a corporation). A Schedule C is part of your 1040 personal return, and is not submitted independently.

Go to amend your return from the Tax Timeline when you log in.

When you initiate the amendment process, you will visit the following section to add the LLC information:

  • Federal Taxes
  • Self-Employment
  • Income and Expenses

You will mail the amended tax return, which will now have a Schedule C. Be sure to also amend your state return(s), if applicable.
