My father had an accounting practice and died unexpectedly early in 2019. 

He had no shareholders, it was just him.

No debts. No Income in 2019. Minimal assets.

Do we need to do anything this year?

You may need to include any expenses he may have had on his final tax return, though it's hard to know for certain without more information.   I'm sorry for your loss.
