Using TurboTax Home & Business, I created 1099-NEC for a contractor and mailed a paper copy to the contractor. At that time, TurboTax would not allow me to eFile the 1099-NEC with the IRS. How do I get back to the place where I can eFile the 1099 with the IRS and is that still not available in Turbo Tax on 1-20-25? I need to file by 1-31-25.

If you used the Desktop option to create your Form 1099-NEC in TurboTax Home & Business, you can't e-file your forms.
Below are steps to print and mail your forms to the IRS.
Please see this TurboTax Help Article for additional information.
If you want to file your forms electronically, you can recreate on the Quick Employer Forms. You may incur an additional fee.
Quick Employer Forms worked and I was able to file electronically with the IRS. Thanks!
I'm filing form 1099-NEC for 2025 using Turbotax Home and Business desktop. Are the 1099-NEC and 1096 considered scannable and OK for filing if I print them from Turbotax to my printer. I was under the impression these forms need to be scannable, but when I choose print "all forms for filing" they don't look scannable or I can't tell if they are.
Edited my answer. Please follow the advice from ShannonB1 above. @
@LaShaunA3 Where do you select "Print on pre-printed forms (Copy A)"? I don't see that in my Windows Home & Business program. Using the built in Desktop Create Forms, I have Form 1099-NEC Copy A (John Smith) but can't find print on PRE-Printed forms. Which Print button? I've looked under Print Center upper right and File-Print and in Forms mode.
Could it be in the QEF Quick Employer Forms method? The Quick Employer Forms only supports e-filing of the forms with the IRS and Social Security Administration. Copy A of the Form 1099 and W-2 are only used for e-filing and are not provided for printing.
And if you can print on the red pre-printed forms that would be a very BIG change.
