Thank you for posting Kelvin. I hope an update will be provided soon. I will probably go to "freeTaxUsa" if this is not resolved , but I an't imagine there not being a resolution. I am hoping we are early birds and the closer we get to the efile date this issue will pick up more steam.
I would also ask that everyone make at least 1 customer complaint to INTUIT customer support regarding this issue. They will NOT resolve this issue if all we do is complain amongst each other. The only thing that will make them fix this is if business is threatened , and what threatens business?....."Customer complaints".
Thank you
The reason you aren't able to efile the return with schedule C included is because of form 7206. Form 7206 isn't set to be available until 2/7/2024. Tax Forms Availability TurboTax
I have the same issue when attempting to efile with my Schedule C, I get an error I have to file by mail. If I delete the Schedule C it will allow me to efile. So I will wait until 2/7 or 2/8 and try again. Hope that helps!
That’s what I thought too. Form 7206 doesn’t apply to me because I have health insurance through my w2 job. I was able to delete that form and it still says I’m unable to e-file.
Same problem, cannot file schedule C. I deleted schedule C and it would let me e-file. I just got off the phone with Turbo Tax support with no avail. They know there is a problem, just not how to fix it. I must file schedule C. So flustering!!! This will be my last year with Turbo Tax. I have used them since efile came onboard. I am hoping by 01/29 they will fix the problem.
Same here. I’m going to give them until the 29th the resolve this even though I don’t think it will be. I can’t remember where I was looking but I saw that TT updates their software once a week on Thursdays. So I think we won’t see anything until at least next Thursday. Hopefully I’m wrong but this will prob be my last year using TT as well.
I know it is not what you want to hear. As long as they fix it I will continue using Turbotax. They are a reputable company. They say they will fix and I believe them.
In the same boat here. Delete my business and I can e-file, put it back in and it prevents me from doing so. I even try to print my forms out and then it gives me an error message that California state forms are not available. All indications are that Schedule C should be available at this time! If it's not fixed by next Thursday then I too will be going elsewhere
This is a known issue and is being addressed. Don't delete your Schedule C.
The IRS does not accept returns until next week, so it is too early in the tax season to file most returns. You can view the forms availability chart to see what forms are not ready. There are a lot of forms you may not be aware of that get sent with a Schedule C. For example, Qualified Business Income Deduction (QBI), forms are not all ready yet. Your return may need that form. @JFenzau
I am having the same issue. Diesnt tell you which form either but have a schedule C. Turbo yax removed schedule C from the deluxe version online but is still availabke on the desktop. I am wondering if they are preventing us from efiling unless we upgrade
No they are not. It is available basic and deluxe. That s not the issue. They say they are working on a solution. This is second update since they were notified and nothing. It still does not work. I upgraded to deluxe it still does not allow me to file if I include schedule C.
it matters because the messages states that due to tax regulations the file contains a form that cannot be e-filed even though there are no new forms vs what I filed last year. Trying to track down what is triggering this.
I am using home and business as well and cannot file, so annoying!
Ok ... please be patient and wait for the forms to become available since there is nothing you can do about it. Eventually this will be working.
