My client gave me a 1099-NEC instead of a 1099-MISC this year. Online it said that if the employer filled out the nonemployee compensation field on the 1099-MISC that this year things were changing and they should use the 1099-NEC. However, when I filed my taxes (or started them), that section said something about a farm instead of just a business. Is the wording wrong or did I enter this into the wrong section?

You are just in the wrong section ... the 1099-NEC is correct this year.
It is in the business tab so look for the Sch C section.
It does show in that section correctly, as graphic design and who the client was. so I should be good.
