You cannot do anything until the IRS starts accepting 2016 tax returns on January 23, 2017. After that date the IRS will either accept or reject your tax return. TurboTax will send you an email when the IRS either accepts or rejects the return. If rejected then you can correct your return by completing the W-2 section with the correct tax data and re-file your return.
If accepted by the IRS then you will need to wait until the IRS sends you any refund based on your tax return or any taxes owed have been processed by the IRS. Then you will need to amend the tax return using IRS Form 1040X to correct the filed and accepted 2016 tax return. After making the corrections on the amended return you will have to print and mail the return to the IRS, since amended return cannot be e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process the amended return.
