Why is the reimbursement from the IRS more than my submitted tax return?

I filed a few weeks back and my tax return says that I should receive a refund of x but then I received an extra $2.92. Is there a way to know if something was wrong with my tax return?

The IRS will send a letter explaining what they did. Give them 3 weeks.

Sounds like the IRS paid you some interest.  Might need to keep track of the $2.92, you might have to enter it as interest income next year.
