Currently, the IRS is experiencing a very high volume of traffic due to the stimulus, and many systems are not actively being updated. Please keep checking back periodically.

In the meantime, you can use the below resource for the stimulus:

The IRS rolled out the "Get My Payment" tool here. According to IRS.gov, you can use the "Get My Payment" application to:

  • Check your payment status
  • Confirm your payment type: direct deposit or check
  • Enter your bank account information for direct deposit if the IRS doesn't  have your direct deposit information and if they haven't sent your payment yet.
  • Receive paper check payments: If you moved since you last filed, let us know your new mailing address.

I am having the same issue. I filed on 4/13 and it was accepted on 4/14, but on my profile on irs.gov there is no record. Is this just due to longer wait times due to COVID-19? I cannot get through to anyone when calling the IRS.

Sometimes people get confused by the “summary” given by TurboTax and use the wrong amount for the federal refund.  Make sure you are only using the federal refund amount, and not an amount that combined your federal and state refunds.

Your federal refund amount is on line 20 of your Form 1040

I actually do not receive a refund from the IRS, I owe this year. Is there a reason why it's been over 21 days and I have not seen any updates on the IRS website? It still only shows my 2018 return. Do I need to submit my 2019 taxes via mail or file again?

@avanbecelaere What are you expecting to see on the IRS site?  If you owe you will never see anything about your tax return on the WMR site.   The WMR site is only for refunds.  If you owe tax due you are supposed to pay by July 15, 2020.

If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.

If what you are referring to is your stimulus check, there is a site to look at for that.

If your return was accepted, then you cannot file again.  Any attempts to e-file again will be rejected by the IRS.  As for mailing it in --- the IRS is not opening mail right now.  If you requested that the IRS debit an account to pay your tax due, you will just have to watch that account to see when they do it.  That will be your only

indication that your 2019 return has been processed.

Thank you for your help! I was wondering when it would show online in my IRS account so I can make the payment on their website instead of sending in a check through the mail. You are correct, it sounds like I will just have to wait until that is posted.

You do not have to wait unless you want to wait.  You can go ahead and pay on the IRS site anytime you want to do so.

What if I put my banking information into the turbo tax e file website when filing my taxes to pay for what I owed for federal taxes but the payment still hasn't been deducted from my bank account or show on my IRS account? Can I try and just pay directly on the IRS direct deposit website without it double charging my account?

Yes, you could pay directly on the IRS Direct Pay site, but it would run the potential of double charging your account.

If it has been more than 7 - 10 days after your return was accepted, call the IRS e-file Payment Services at 1-888-353-4537 and reach out to your state tax agency, if applicable.

For more information, see: When will my tax payment go through?

Since you have checked your bank account and your IRS account here: IRS: View Your Tax Account Information, to pay by the deadline, you would have to submit payment today.

To learn more, go to IRS Paying Your Taxes for options or see 2020 Form 1040 Instructions, page 62.
