What says Ready to Mail? Sorry but Printed or Ready to Mail means you have to print out your return and mail it to the IRS yourself. So it has not been filed yet.
How to change from Mail to Efile https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/5561257
Turbo Tax will always say Ready to Mail. They don't know if or when you actually mailed it. And the IRS doesn't tell Turbo Tax when they get a mailed return.
Ready to mail indicates that the tax return has not been e-filed and you need to print and mail the tax return.
Use this TurboTax website to check the status of an e-filed return and if it was either accepted or rejected - https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If the state return does not show as being Accepted by the state then you can go back and e-file the state return.
Note - The federal tax return must have been e-filed and accepted by the IRS before you can e-file the state tax return. If the federal tax return has not been e-filed then the state tax return cannot be e-filed.
When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.
This will take you back to the 2018 online tax return.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
If you have not mailed your return yet you can try to switch to efile. You can efile until Oct 15.
You said you efiled it in March? Did it reject? You can check your efile status here https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Did you finish Efiling it? Did you go all the way to the very end and hit the big orange Transmit Returns Now button?
