The IRS has been updating forms and we have been incorporating them. It may have been the timing. What you need to do is preview your return and make sure it is correct before filing. It is always a good idea to compare last year and this year returns before filing. Credits and deductions, all need to be checked.
See How do I preview my TurboTax Online return before filing?
I'm having the same issue and I see others are too. Did you ever get the issue resolved?
I don't like TT telling you to check your return before filing because that is what I'm expecting TT to do. Maybe the other person with the same issue is on the right path - TT may not be the software for me anymore either. I've been using it for years but this year there have been issues and it's been extremely frustrating to use.
We are sorry that you are experiencing frustration. Is your issue the exact same as the OP? Did your refund amount drop upon starting your state return? please provide as much details as possible so that we may assist accordingly @meandyou4taxes.
Yes, the refund amount dropped when I clicked on "start your state return". I can't figure this one out.
That was the third issue I had with TT this year and I've never had an issue before. After much searching I found answers to the other two issues. It did not involve any incorrect information I input - both involved information that was input but it didn't end up on the correct line on the form.
Can you please provide the state you are filing in?
