No, The IRS has their own software program and all forms are switched over to match the IRS software. You can read about the IRS Master File and the many languages used and for which areas. Many languages are used, COBOL, JAVA, and so on.

On your personal file with Turbo Tax, a .data file is used.

@crosstuart Why do you want to know? They only send the raw data. It's not in a file we can see or use. They don't get all the worksheets and backup details.
