That just means they are not yet done with processing your return. Once they are done, the next stage will be to approve your refund and post an update with a deposit date on their website. Processing times can vary due to their backlog; so keep an eye out on their tracking pages for updates.

You can use the IRS Where's My Refund site for the latest status on your federal tax refund.
  • They generally issue refunds within 21 days of being accepted, but that can sometimes take longer depending on your tax situation. Not everyone's situation is the same. See here for reasons it can take longer than the general 21 days  Why is my IRS refund taking longer than 21 days?

NOTE: If you claimed Earned Income/Additional Child Tax credit on your return, the government held those returns until around mid-February. And refunds from those returns will start releasing in late February. You can find more details on that here Avoid the Rush Track Tax Refund Online at IRS.gov

Select the Re-Enter button to try again. In particular, make sure you enter your exact federal refund dollar amount, filing status and social security number.
