What's taking my refund so long? I have code 1541 on IRS site.

I would call irs again on Wednesday and ask if a letter was sent. They told me the same thing they told u the last couple of times and when I called last week they said a letter was sent and even told me what it said

See they told me when the letter arrives I don't need to do anything else..it's a standard letter. And it's redicolous cause I paid over 100 dollars for TurboTax deluxe just so I don't have these issues..

I’m gonna call the irs tomorrow again to see what’s going on cause for some reason they don’t accept the calls on Monday and Tuesday and says call on Wednesday and thursdays

I called Friday 02/28 and I still didn’t have a letter sent out to me then and when I checked 03/01 that’s when my status went from being delayed to accepted and being processed.

Ash1729 mine did to. I filed the 2/28 and went to the 1541 code a week later and 3/1 it went back to being accepted and being processed. A lot of people are having the same issue on here. It’s is telling people u may or may not get a letter and telling us they haven’t gotten a w2 from the employer. Which is a lie. My employer sent them in. Irs is just lying cause they r behind

Monty keep calling and either put ext 312 or 462 and you will eventually get connected. I had to call a few times before getting connected. It does say to call Wednesday or Thursday but if you just keep calling and switching up those extensions you will eventually get through. When it says “the irs normally issues refunds in 21 days” that’s when you will know you will be connected to someone but if you get the “ we are experiencing high call volumes and to call back Wednesday or Thursday” that’s when you can just hang up because it will kick you off the line. So the agents would just tell me “as of right now no action is needed on your part and there has not been a letter sent out”. I’m just confused and would like an honest answer so I can stop holding my breath for an update. My sons bday is 03/17 and I usually have him something with my refund and it’s frustrated not knowing If I will have the money to celebrate his birthday!

Ash1729 ty I will do that cause I have called both and always get kicked off lol but I will just keep trying. I hope u get ur money soon as well as the rest of us. And ur able to get ur son a bday party and present

Me too..and they said no further action needed when it arrives..I'm just wondering if there is another big update coming..

See when I called they said it was on hold..and didn't know why...Maybe cause this is my first time filing..But tons of people had the 1541 code for weeks and then the same people are being processed and just waiting for a big update..aits our money we worked hard for and we are all waiting..I'll never file early again
