My husband's employer payroll provider messed up the W2's and now we are waiting for the corrected version to be able to file. How is it right that their mistake is making us have to wait?

If by February 14 your husband's attempts to have his Form W-2, Wage and Tax
Statement, corrected by his employer are unsuccessful, he can request that an IRS representative
initiate a Form W-2 complaint." By calling the IRS at 1-800-829-1040, the IRS will ask you for some info before following up with your employer.
