My fiance initially filed her taxes as single (and claimed our son as a nondependent and received the EIC for him) because I was going to claim our son. Since I can't claim him now we decided to let her claim him fully and take Head of Household.
So we amended her return to reflect these changes, that being the dependent and filing status.
Since the only thing she changed were filing status and the dependent what forms do we need to support these changes? Can she just send the 1040X by itself or does she need to include her W-2 even though we entered that info initially into turbotax. Is it necessary to send a 1040 or 1040A along with the amended return? Pretty confused about all this.

Your Fiance will only need to send in her Form 1040X to the IRS if the only changes her Amendment shows is an increase in her Standard Deduction (from Single to Head of Household) and her Exemption amount for adding her son.
Basically, only Forms or Schedules that are "changed" need to be included with her Form 1040X She does not need to send in her Form W-2, her 1040, or any of her original tax forms.
