What about my state return

First off I print and mail in my returns (I know this the reason for my troubles, but too late now). I received a letter from the IRS requesting addtional info which resulted in me owing taxes instead of getting a refund 🙁.  I just sent in my payment to the IRS now I'm wondering about my state return.  In turbotax (which I use to do my taxes... I'm not 100% old school!) I see that my refund for my state return (Oregon) would be about $200 than what I have already received... so what do I do?  Don't worry about it and let them contact me?  Will the IRS inform Oregon of the changes?  Will I go to jail? Thanks for the help!

The IRS will not contact your state concerning the changes to the federal tax return.

You should file a state amended return if the changes made result in a change to your state tax refund.

No, the IRS does not inform Oregon about changes to your federal return.  Federal and state returns are processed by completely separate entities.   If you need to change something on your state return you will need to send in an amended state return.
