Hi,
I was on student visa until 2021 and was exempt from paying social security and Medicare taxes. In 2022 my status changed and I should've been paying those taxes. But due to some confusion and miscommunication, payroll didn't make the changes and those taxes were not withheld from my checks. I didn't catch it until 2024. My W-2 for 2024 was corrected but 2023 and 2022 were not. How can I report the amended FICA taxes? Do I need to wait for my employer to give me corrected W-2 for 2022 and 2023? Or can I report it without the corrected W-2? Is 8919 the form to fill. I read the form and couldn't exactly find my situation in the reasons code.
Any insights would be helpful.

Yes, you will need to amend your 2022 and 2023 returns, which includes form 8919. Here is how to report this.
TurboTax will then generate Form 8919 for you, calculating the Social Security and Medicare taxes that should have been withheld.
Now since your income was needed to calculate the FICA taxes not withheld, we are going to exclude the income since this was already reported in the original W2. This will leave just the unreported FICA taxes on form 8919.
You will do this in each amended return. For the reason code, use C.
Thank you so much for your response, @DaveF1006. I tied following the steps but I just couldn't find the Federal section option on Turbo tax website. Is it on the homepage of TurboTax or do I need to log in to my account? I would appreciate a response. Thanks!
Forget the federal. Just go to wages and income and follow the menu path from there.
