Unable to e-file amendments of 2020 taxes

I am trying to e-file amendment return for tax year 2020 using TurboTax Premier 2020 desktop software
When I click transmit now button, I'm getting following error

"The Intuit Electronic Filing Center is closed for the 2020 Personal Income tax filing season. October 20, 2021 was the last day to file returns electronically. Please file returns through mail."

I am quite not sure why this error happens for amendment? From TurboTax website I understand it is possible to e-filing amendments. Why it is not allowed now?

I used same software to file 2020 taxes and it was all good but this is the first time trying amendment and getting this nasty error message.

Efiling for any returns has closed  ... in the FILE tab choose to mail in the return and the correct forms & filing instructions will be presented.

Just want to know - Is e-filing temporarily closed? or Is it completely closed for this tax year 2020 amendments?

TT has closed the efile system for all returns and the IRS will be closing it at the end of the month for the switch to the new tax year.   This happens every year ... a 6 - 8 week black out period for efiling.

E-filing for 2020 returns  from TurboTax is closed.   ALL e-filing will close at the IRS and will re-open for e-filing when they start accepting 2021 returns.

If you have a return to file then you need to print it, sign it and mail it in.   Use a mailing service that will track it so you will know the IRS received it.
