Turbo Tax refusing to refund me despite not filing with them

I was charged around $88 by TurboTax for the Deluxe version and the state filing fee, not realizing they would charge me immediately. After deciding to file with FreeTaxUSA since it was more affordable, I found out that TurboTax is refusing to refund the $88, even though I didn’t use their service. Customer support has been completely unhelpful, and when I disputed the charge with my bank, they said there was nothing they could do, as TurboTax is insisting it was a valid charge. I will never use TurboTax again, and now I'm out $88 for a service I never even used.

I have contacted.. I was told that there was nothing they could do.

The fee is for preparing your tax return.  Efiling is free for federal and $20 or $25 for state for the desktop edition.  There is no refund if you prepare the return, pay the fees and then do not file.

I’m having the same problem, it charged my card immediately after I put it in for the deluxe since I have child tax credit and I ended up not filing with turbo tax and I went to costumer support and they won’t give me my money back

I am also having the same issue. My refund was denied, i paid because i thought that i could see the paperwork but still can’t see the paperwork and no refund.

You can see all of your tax forms in TurboTax Online after you've paid your fees.

Steps to access you current year return

1. Go to Tax Tools from the left menu.
2. Click Print Center.
3. Choose Print, save, or preview this year's return.

Steps to Access Your Previously Filed Return

• Sign into TurboTax
• Go to Tax Home
• Scroll down to the Your tax returns & documents section.
• Download/Print:
  •  Select the tax year (e.g., 2024) and 
  • Choose Download/print return (PDF). 

If you cannot find your return, ensure you are using the same user ID used to file, as TurboTax online accounts are specific to one user.
