TurboTax does not receive any information from the IRS or your state after your return was filed, so no one at TurboTax knows about a letter you received from the IRS or the state. You say your letter is from the state. The state and the IRS are separate entities.

AUDIT SUPPORT
TurboTax has a special phone number for help with IRS/state tax letters, which will be easier than going through regular Customer Support. At the page below, click on the blue button that says "Get Help from TurboTax Support". Then it will ask you what tax year is your letter. Then it will ask you what the letter concerns. Then it will show you the phone number during posted business hours.

Thank you for respond to my inquiry. I did not receive a letter from IRS but from FTB a notice of proposed assessment for underreported/overstated deduction in 2016 for State California on (540) tax return. In 2016 I filled my tax return from Turbo Tax free edition. However, when I check copies of my 540 the information did not match with what FTB claimed it was reported. I have up to May-05-2020 to protest the claim. Please, I did help with the issue.
