The IRS must first approve TT's version (programming) of the form, as it does with all the Federal tax forms and schedules. But the IRS has also said not to amend just yet for any of the very recent tax law changes (such as the $10,200 unemployment comp deduction). It is still working on procedures for this, which TT must then program and test. Since 1040-X forms take 4-6 months to process, a short wait won't make much difference.
