The IRS stated that early filers typically won't see a direct deposit date until Feb 16-18th. However, if your return is under review, that may be a reason why you don't see a date yet. Also, you might be one of the people who are getting a refund around the last part of the month. Check the where's my refund tool tomorrow. (www.irs.gov) If you don't see an update, check back on Tuesday as Monday is President's Day. Continue to check the where's my refund tool until you see a date. Sometimes the wmr tool doesn't update early (12a.m. or so.) I would advise checking around 7a.m. or so daily. If you check too many times, you will be locked out of the system and won't be able to check again until the next day. Another thing you can do is to call the IRS if you are beyond the 21 day period. Plenty of people have called and spoken with a representative regarding their refund and most representatives have been helpful and gave a date before the where's my refund tool even showed one. This is just another option if you don't feel like waiting for the tool to update.
