Soo , my friend filed taxes after me. He had additional tax credit on his filing status as well. They (IRS site) literally told him check back mid to late February for his refund
he received his refund today. .. I’m trying to figure out what’s taking the IRS so long with my money . When I filed before him also he had additional tax credit on his as well.. only difference is I have a dependent..
Whats really the hold up?

if you claimed either the earned income credit or the child tax credit by law the iRS can't start releasing refunds until yesterday so it might get to you in the next week or so. check your status on the iRS website.
My friend did the same thing .. he filed additional tax credit and already got his money today.
the IRS told me my money is scheduled to be deposited on the 20th. The 20th is a holiday. When I go check on the website , it tells me “check back mid February” PATH act etc.
so me checking on the website doesn’t mean anything because my friend literally just checked his this morning and it told him the same thing but yet he literally just got his money today. Even though I filed way before him ..
It depends. The IRS doesn't plan to release the majority of refunds for returns that have the earned income tax credit (EITC) or the advanced child tax credit (ACTC) until later. They will begin to release a few as their system draws closer to the release date. Use the links below for review.
If you claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC), you can expect to get your refund by February 28 if:
You are always going to find someone else whose refund arrived faster, and someone who waited even longer than you. That is the way it goes. Returns are not processed “first in — first out.”
Same thing happened to me. I filed before my daughter and she got hers yesterday. I'm thinking we will get ours next week.😉
