The bank returned my refund how long wIl It take after Irs mails my check

Today makes exactly 3 weeks since my check has been rejected from bank. Still no check I’m pissed can’t contact them at all.

@Sharmista If your refund went to a wrong or closed bank account, the bank sends it back to the IRS.   Then the IRS has to issue and mail a paper check to you.   That can take several weeks.   It will be sent by first class mail without any tracking so you will simply have to watch your mail.

Or did you happen to choose the option to pay any TurboTax fees out of your Federal refund?   If so, that's handled by an intermediary company called SBTPG.   If you chose that option, and if your bank rejected the deposit, it goes back to the intermediary bank where the fees were taken out.   In that case, it would be that intermediary company that would normally send the paper check in the mail.  On rare occasions SBTPG might send it back to the IRS and have them issue the check, but that's less common.

My direct deposit failed and my refund was sent back to TPG. I was wondering if you could be a little bit more specific when you say "that process can take a few days" in regards to how long it takes for them to actually send the check. My dd failed on March 16th. I cant get ahold of anyone at tpg on the phone. Would you say it will be 2, 3, 4 weeks, ballpark estimate,  until I will get my check?

How long would it take for TPG to mail the check and to recieve it after the direct deposit fails? Ballpark estimate. 2, 3, 4 weeks?

Mine was sent out on march 18 from California and I live in McKeesport pa so I should be receiving it by Wednesday this week latest friday

So Pnc rejected mine on February 22 they received check back following day and literally just sen mine out march 18 so I should be getting my Wednesday this week Friday the latest

So if your check is rejected by your bank with fees taken out does the bank send it back to irs or does your check come straight to you

Someone else prepared my taxes. Per Chase bank they told me everything is electronic when it’s direct deposit they told me it was attempted to the bank on the 22nd of Feb and was rejected on the 23rd of Feb sent back to irs. But still no check. Chase said there is no mailing involved when it’s direct deposit

Wow I wonder why Santa Barbara didn’t tell me they have to send back to irs they told me they sent it out on March 4 and I should receive in 3-5 days then someone else there said 7-10

Oh ok @Sharmista thank you for info it’s been since March 4 since they say the printed and mailed the check,guess it’s just a waiting game now

Don’t go back to irs the bank that pays out from the company you did your taxes thru is who send you the cashier check

So this just happened with mine and I contacted TPG and they said they are mailing a check to me and not the IRS. And they only mail checks out Wednesday and Fridays. They're supposed to be mailing it out Wednesday. 

So I guess it won't be the IRS mailing back your check if TPG took the filing fee out of your refund. It'll be send right from the Santa Barba bank or TPG. Idk mine was returned on the 16th, I just got an email from them today my check is being sent out Wednesday so now I guess I just wait. I thought I had to wait for the IRS too but I guess not.

Mine was returned the same day. After contacting tpg and finally hearing back today they told me they're mailing out my check Wednesday. So I don't think it'll take weeks personally, probably a week at most (I hope) apparently they don't send it back to the irs they just mail a check. Will update when I get the check
