Including a 2016 W-2 with your 2017 tax return was definitely a mistake. You will have to wait until the IRS has completed its review of your tax return before you do anything else. They might correct your mistake; you might have to amend both your 2016 and 2017 tax returns, but you need to sit tight for now and wait for the IRS.
