I need to file as independent, but I selected dependent and now I can’t go back to change it.

Sign in to your return, click on Take me to my return and then click on MyInfo in the left side menu.  Click Edit next to your name and scroll down to Question #3 and update your answer.  If no one can claim you as a dependent, then you would select NO.
