You'll enter the amount of alimony you received into TurboTax, but you won't need to include additional documentation with your tax return. The payer of the alimony will list your social security number on his/her tax return when including the amount of alimony paid. It's incumbent on you to provide the payer your social security number for this purpose or face an IRS penalty.
You'll enter your alimony received by clicking on the Federal Taxes tab, then Wages & Income, then scroll down to Less Common Income and select Alimony Received. Then follow the prompts to enter your amount.
