A tax return transcript is a document you get from the IRS that lists the information that was on the tax return that you filed, but not in the format of the actual tax return forms. It is not an actual copy of your tax return. You can get a transcript of your 2020 tax return on the IRS web site at the link that Bsch4477 gave you above.

@scrat If you are checking on the IRS transcript site and the IRS does not have a transcript for 2020, that means the IRS did not receive a 2020 tax return from you.

What does it show in your online account with the IRS?

I see the payment, date, and amount for the 2020 tax period.

If you used TurboTax to prepare a 2020 return it will show up in your online account with TT.  If you used some other software, we have no way to know what you used.

Many people have multiple TT accounts and forget how to access them.  Log out of the account you are in now.

The IRS online account typically has tax return transcripts for the current year and up to 3 prior years.  Here's how to order an older one:

You must submit Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return, to request a transcript for a tax year not available online.

If you’re using individual online account, tax return and record of account transcripts are only available for the current tax year and three prior tax years. Generally, tax account transcripts are available for the current year and nine prior tax years unless certain conditions apply.

Note: There is a "show all +" expand button below the online tax account transcript type that may provide additional tax years.

Tax return and tax account transcripts are limited to the current and prior three tax years when using Get transcript by mail or the automated phone transcript service.
