My taxes were accepted on Jan 27th by the IRS, I did claim my two daughters so I knew refund would take a bit longer. I am still waiting for my taxes as of today. I received my state about two weeks ago but when I track my federal it just says it's still being processed. I have not recieved any information in the mail about my return needing a longer review, I set up an account hoping to maybe see a message telling me my taxes are under review or what exactly is going on with them. I can't reach anyone from the IRS the system just keeps taking me back to the start to check filing status. Are other people dealing with these issues or is it me. Any advice

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

If over 21 days since being Accepted by the IRS and the tax refund is still Processing you can call the IRS and speak with an IRS agent concerning your tax refund.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.
Yes, same. I filed middle of feb and still havent gotten ours either. My app tells me its accepted but thats all the more I can see. 🤷♀️🤦♀️
Same here. It's so frustrating because I keep getting sent to the **bleep** IRS.gov page and I really just want to talk to a person.
I haven't received mine either and it was accept on Jan 27th.
Same here we filed Jan 28th. Already got our state return back but not federal. On the website it just says processing. It has never taken this long...

Update. Just spoke with someone with IRS and they said that mine is being held because of possible identity theft. So a letter is being mailed with instructions of how to confirm my identity before they release the money.
Mine were accepted the same day. Still just "accepted" not yet approved. Haven't even received state yet. I have no clue whats going on :(
Exact same situation here. Taxes accepted Feb 15. Today is May 7. I have received state refund, but no federal. Website says "still being processed". When I call the phone number, it says they are not taking phone calls. I sent an overnight letter to the IRS and have heard nothing back. @Nevjae2019 has your issue been resolved?
The online link is your best option to track your refund. I have attached a link with more answers from the IRS as to why your refund may be taking longer to process.
There is a delay in processing the returns as the IRS is not processing paper returns at the moment due to Covid-19 and social distancing policies in effect.
Same here. I filed on March 17th, and it's now May 15th (two months). Already got my state return back but not federal. On the IRS Refund Status website it just says "processing". It has never taken this long for me to receive a refund... I usually get a refund in about two weeks.
I know that the IRS is swamped with the stimulus checks, and I have heard they are not even processing paper returns. I filed electronically, but it's still saying "Your return is being processed. A refund date will be provided when one becomes available."
I guess this year is going to be a waiting game?
Since mine has been well over 12 weeks, and I filed electronically, I went ahead and contacted my Kansas Tax Advocate. But, no surprise, their offices are closed and I had to leave a message. This was last week. I left a detailed message and no one has called me back, yet. For those of us who are self-employed, who have not sought a government loan, and are not collecting any type of government aide whatsoever during this Covid mess, our savings are spending quick. I was really counting on that tax refund. Soon, I hope!
I'm also self-employed and I've been waiting for my fed tax refund for two months now.
There is another forum question on here that is up to 164 pages of community members asking about late refunds that are still processing.
I can only guess that the IRS has shifted to the stimulus check project and completely stopped processing tax returns. I guess they cannot chew gum and walk at the same time.
Thank you, @Kerguelen, my thoughts exactly. I just feel like I am getting lost in the shuffle, but I know I'm not alone. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.
