Balance due means that you owed. Which one of you returns had a balance due? Federal or state? If you had a balance due then you are not getting a refund for that tax return.

I haven’t received my Federal Tax refund yet , its been 2 months after the expected date. Could it be because I have state tax due or they aren’t connected
