Given the cover-19 crisis and overload of IRS with the economic impact / stimulus checks, how long is it currently taking to process 2019 returns that we filed via paper/usps? I mailed my return on Feb 26, 2020 and it is still not showing up in the IRS system. Should I be concerned that it might be lost? At what point should I refile electronically. What are the implications if I do that? I'd appreciate any information and advise you might have.
Thank you

The IRS is not processing paper tax returns at this time.

The IRS is not currently able to process individual paper tax returns. If you already have filed via paper but it has not yet been processed, do not file a second tax return or write to the IRS to inquire about the status of your return or your Economic Impact Payment. Paper returns will be processed once processing centers are able to reopen.
The IRS is not currently processing paper returns due to COVID-19. They are keeping them in secure storage. The processing time is currently unknown.
Please don't e-file your return, though. It will create issues when the IRS does get to your paper return, and it will generate unnecessary IRS notices that will likely result in you being on the phone with them for awhile.
