I have received confirmation that the IRS has received my federal filing but I have no confirmation that the state of New Mexico has. It has been over week. I paid for the forms to be sent electronically. When will I receive confirmation, an estimate?

It is hard to determine an estimate. We have no idea how things are going at the New Mexico Tax Processing Site.
When e-filing season is just getting started for the season, it can take a while for some states to start having everything run smoothly. Some states are ready and some are not. It can also make a difference as to how many changes they made in their software for the year. The more changes, the more there is to verify accuracy.
Some of the states returns are e-filed along with the federal return, but until the federal return has been accepted, they do not send the state return onto the state e-file department. In the beginning it takes quite a bit longer to test out the IRS e-file system and process the returns they have accepted, too.
New Mexico has posted the following information on their website for the "Where's My Refund" information link:
The Department generally processes electronically filed returns claiming a refund within 6 to 8 weeks.
A paper return received by the Department takes 8 to 12 weeks to process.
When inquiring about a refund, please allow sufficient time for the Department to process the refund claim.
The status of a refund is available electronically.
A Social Security Number and the amount of the refund due are required to check on the status. You are not required to register to use this service.
If it is necessary to ask about a refund check, please allow enough time for the refund to be processed before calling the Department. Keep a copy of the tax return available when checking on the refund status online or by telephone.
Refer to the processing times below to determine when you should be able to view the status of your refund.
As you can see, it is definitely faster to e-file your return to New Mexico, but it sounds like it is taking awhile to process returns currently in their system.
