Spouse is foreign and has no SSN or ITIN. I understand I have to print-and-mail rather than e-file. But I cannot print without entering a SSN.
Please advise how to proceed.

In this case, you'd have to enter a placeholder SSN for your wife (one you know is valid, such as yours). After printing the return, remove the placeholder SSN (erase it or white-out the number and make a copy of the resulting1040).
