What do I need to do

They are pending cam we stop them so I can wait on the w2 from the 401 k

You will NOT get a W-2 from the 401-K distribution ... you will get a form 1099-R

To enter a form 1099-R
• Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
• Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
• Click on I'll choose what I work on
• Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
• On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button

So do I wait until the w2 I filed is accepted and then go back into my turbo tax account when I receiver the 1099r and amend my taxes

Exactly. Amendments should be available by the end of January/mid February.

Since you already filed, you cannot change your return. You will need to file an amendment when they become available in late January or early February.

If you have not filed yet, you can log back into your TurboTax program and select the Income and Wages tab and walk back through the interview. You can then change or add any items you need to.
