Should I file a new amended return (2018) if my existing return isn't showing up as being received in the IRS website after 18 weeks?

Others have asked similar questions but my  tracking showed it was received on July 28, 2020 and I would at least hope it is showing up in the "Where's My Amended Return" site on the IRS Website, even with Covid 19 delays. Is it time to simply file it again?

NO!  The IRS says not to file again.  That will confuse them and slow it down even more.  You have to keep waiting.  They are way behind processing mailed returns.  They have millions of returns to process.   Sounds like they got it.  That's why you did the tracking on it.

I filed in May. I'm waiting to the end of January. If not processed by then, I'm sending it in again.

there is nothing on the IRS "Where is amended refund?" page.
