Should I be worried if I haven't received my Federal refund yet?

Filed on 1/31/2020, received almost immediately. Continued to check the status on the IRS app, the day after the 21st day of filing, my bars disappeared and I now have the "refund is still processing" message. I check daily, the message never changes, no error codes, no (child) tax credit, no letter in the mail, and am just getting a little concerned.

I try to check my IRS transcripts, but it says "N/A" for the 2019 year. I also tried calling the IRS, but received an automated message that said, "we're experiencing high call volume, please call back again later" - no option to even hold or anything.

Thoughts?

Have you received it yet?  I was wondering the same thing about ours as well then we received a letter in the mail from the IRS saying they were reviewing/investigating our return based on our income.  We have to wait 60 days to hear back from them.

No letter as of yet, and I keep trying to call the IRS, but can't get through. I just want to know what's going on :(

What date did you submit your return?

Submitted on 1/31/2020, and got the Accepted e-mail almost immediately after submitting.

Most, but not all, Federal REFUNDS are issued within 21 business days of the return being accepted by the IRS (this is not based on when you filed).

Please keep in mind that once you e-file or mail your return only the IRS has any control over it.

The IRS will notify TurboTax when your return is accepted, there are no more updates given for the next 2 stages of Processing and Approval

You have to go to Where's my Refund to get any further information.

If you qualified for the Earned income credit or Additional Child Tax Credit here is more information about the PATH Act delay, but keep in mind that the IRS site for Where's my refund, https://www.irs.gov/refunds  is the final authority.

While most refunds are issued within 21 days of the return being accepted, not the date it was filed, sometimes there can be delays.

Please see the following information about contacting the IRS if it has been more than 21 days since your return was accepted:

Should I be worried if I haven't received my Federal refund yet?

Just wanted to update this thread - I got a hold of the IRS and I was missing form 1095-A from my tax return as well as form 8962. They informed me a letter was mailed regarding this info, but I never received the letter (have to take that up with USPS).

I faxed and mailed them both over the weekend, and was informed it could take an additional 8 weeks in processing time. The agent told me there would be no confirmation from the IRS once I sent the forms in, and the "Where's My Refund" tool likely will not update either (it will just be stuck on processing). I got a confirmation page that the fax went through and sent the forms via certified mail so I'll at least be able to confirm when they receive them.

The agent told me to call back if I haven't received an update or my refund from the IRS in 8 weeks. Kind of annoyed because I don't recall TurboTax prompting me to enter my 1095-A and everything checked out fine before I filed when it shouldn't have if I was still missing a form.

Anyone have any experience sending the requested forms in and how long it took to get the refund after?
