Hi there,
My wife and I sent in our paper tax returns mid March, and the IRS Refund Tool only says "We cannot provide any information about your refund" when we enter the correct information. To add to our concerns, the tracking tool on USPS says "Delivered, Individual Picked Up at Postal Facility tax return," in Ogden, Utah.
Do tax returns get picked up at Postal Offices? Or could this be some mistake on USPS' part and our tax return never got to the IRS?
Thanks!

The verbiage on post office tracking may not precisely match what happens with large recipients like the IRS. But if they say it got there, it got there. As for the passage of several months on a return filed by mail, this is not at all unexpected. Under normal circumstances, the processing of a mailed return can take three months. We are not under normal circumstances. If it has not been processed in another month or two, you should call the IRS to inquire.
was your letter delivered finally then?

Yes it was! It worked out.
