How and when will I know if my tax refund is offset?

Will that tell me for sure the where's my refund tool says my taxes were approved and the deposit date is 2/15 would it show the offset at that point?

If you check your status and it says refund approve for the whole amount does this mean the offset didn't affect your refund?

How soon before or after your refund was approved would you be notified of an offsite?

@kaytrinnaedwards  that's tricky I think. Some r taken right after approved, others closer to DDD, some got all refund.

I filled on jan. 29, 2018 and it still says accepted. When I call the Ph. # it says I have a school debt and could take my taxes. So does that mean they will or maybe? I am just so confussed that I am still sitting in accepted tho...

@sunnysideup34 . They may take it. If your refund is more than your debt, u will get the remaining balance...

Ok so I my ddd n I called it does say i have an offset but it does not show on my wmr any reduced money it still says the full amount but I also haven't received any notice plz help will I get it or no

If your refund has been approved with the whole amount that you was supposed to receive then your all set to receive it on your DDD date. But if your refund say approved with a topic code for offsets and your amount has been lowered then your tax refund would be offset. During the processing time is when there looking for back taxes and offsets once there done then you'll get a topic code with and offset.
