I filed my taxes like normal about 3 weeks ago. My boss then decides to hand out 1099-NEC forms last week. I’m trying to amend my already processed and accepted taxes and add the 1099, but the information was entered in the wrong place. I have tried to “edit” that portion so many times but it won’t let me. It just gives me the option to “revisit” but not change anything. I have tried deleting forms and canceling the amend completely in hopes of starting fresh, but still no luck.
It’s listed in the “wages & income” section under “miscellaneous income, 1099-A, 1099-C” again, it gives me the option to “edit” but that only allows me to “revisit” not change anything.
Can someone please help me?

Can you please clarify which form you entered? Did you enter 1099-MISC instead of 1099-NEC?
I was supposed to enter 1099-NEC and I’m honestly not sure what was entered. My dad was trying to help me and entered it in a section other than 1099-NEC.
The information is entered under “miscellaneous income, 1099-A, 1099-C”
@SantinoD This is what it looks like. The Info under “miscellaneous income, 1099-A, 1099-C” is what I would like to delete. When I select “edit/add” it does not give me the option to actually edit anything. Just re-enter numbers
The income belongs in the 1099-NEC section, not the 1099-A. Have you tried to delete the form?
Here are the steps for deleting unwanted forms in TurboTax Online:
Open your return in TurboTax. (To do this, sign in to TurboTax, and select the Take me to my return button.)
In the left side bar, select Tax Tools> Tools.
In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet and follow the onscreen instructions.
Click the edit button and go through the questions again. Delete all the info in the boxes as you go through the questions and make sure to go through all the questions.
When you finish that section, it will still show in the "your income" section but it should show a $0 value. You should be ok to move forward.
Just make sure to enter your 1099-NEC in the self-employment income section. Since that is considered self-employment income, you can deduct any business-related expenses you incurred. I advised to back to your bank statements and/or receipts of any business expenses you paid in 2022.
To enter your 1099-NEC in TurboTax:
@SantinoD Thank you so much for the help! I followed your steps listed, but it only got the amount down halfway. I kept clicking through the questions hoping i'd find where the remaining half was entered, but was unsuccessful.
I followed the same steps for the other sections, but I am still unable to get rid of the second half of the number.
Unfortunately, removing data that you've entered involves deleting it from where you typed it in. If you can't find where you entered it then your best bet may be to delete the whole return and start over. As annoying as that sounds.
Thank you for the response! I've tried that too and still no luck. @leeloo
@RobertB4444 I've tried to completely cancel the amend as a whole and I gave it about 48 hours before I went back, but all of the numbers are still there
