Refund Missing

The IRS released my refund and Turbo Tax has not released my funds after taking their fee for processing my taxes. I have filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Attorney General because Turbo Tax has consistently refused to release my money. This has been going on now for 9 months, which is not acceptable.

Refund Missing

TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

Refund Missing

Turbotax never had your refund.

There are several legitimate reasons that SBT bank might hold your refund.  Or it could be a complete confused mess.  We don't know--no one on this board has access to your account, your refund, or your personal information.

If SBT is unable to verify your information and send you an electronic deposit or check, they are supposed to send the refund back to the IRS, at which time the IRS will send a paper check.

You need to start by contacting the bank, not the attorney general.  If the bank can't help, you need to talk to the state agency in your state that licenses and regulates banks.  As SBT is a subsidiary of Green Dot Bank, and they are headquartered in Utah, you may also want to contact the agency in Utah that licenses and regulates banks.
