Refund late?? 2020

Only the IRS will know any reason for the delay, once you submit your return Turbo Tax does not receive status updates.

Anyone who has EIC or child tax credit was delayed until mid to late February.

You can track your return by clicking here. This will allow you to receive real-time updates as well as a direct deposit date after the refund is approved.

If you have student loans that are overdue that haven't been placed in deferment or forbearance, they can take your refund. It could also just be your bank holding the funds. Have you called your bank?

Wouldn't you be able to see it reflecting or pending on online banking? I doubt it's the bank. If they search on the Where's My Refund Tool and it says processing (like me) then it's unlikely that the bank has it. It simply hasn't been approved.

I'm wondering why it hasn't been approved when I filed on Jan. 27, I don't have any of the credits that are purposely held longer (like EITC) , and I received my state refund already.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
