It's been my personal experience that the IRS is still backlogged and you can expect to wait for your refund, especially if you qualified for any of the credits EIC, CTC, or the Recovery Rebate Credit.
@fanfare
if you filed an accurate tax return, you should have your refund by now or shortly.
Your status on Where's My Refund will change if there is any issue.
Looking for anyone who has actually received a refund this year with the same credits.....or someone who actually knows if I automatically will wait 90-120 days just because I qualified for those credits.
No need to post info already available for me on irs.gov or turbotax. I've obviously already read all that.....for years.
Does anyone truly have any ideas or personal experiences similar 🤔
Or does anyone know if the irs is backlogged like last year
If your return shows those credits, IRS must hold your refund until Feb 15.
We're long past that now. You submitted after that date.

@fanfare
they don't seem to have any delays in taking the Rebate Credit off your tax return.
see all the complaints here about where's the rest of my refund.

IRS is still working on the huge backlog from 2020 and will be for many months,
any additional paper returns for tax year 2021 will just go to the end of the line.
According to the IRS commissioner, it is first come first served, but I don't believe that.
If you used Credit Karma cash I believe the IRS is going to delay your refund. From what I can read here a good amount of people are having big delays from this whole Credit Karma Cash push. I will never use turbo tax again after they screwed everyone over with the credit karma cash option. I'm guessing since people have brand new bank accounts for deposits the IRS is double-checking and ID verifying all of them. An utter disaster and worst-case scenario. If you want to avoid delays just go in-person somewhere and you will never be delayed.
