I used a downloaded version of Turbo Tax. It did ask me to update the software before transmitting the CA refund. I have already resubmitted it. It's now pending again. Let's see when it will be accepted. I will keep you guys posted!
@Jason707 I got the same text. It is just delayed. But my CA return still says pending.
Finally!! The coveted rejected return text and email. Now I can fix this and re transmit.
Same situation as others.
Original filing date: 02/13 - expected refunds for both
Federal accepted within an hour
State was stuck in pending.
Emailed board, got generic response
At 3:10 PM Pacific time, got the reject email.
Opened TurboTax. It checked status. Status now showed "Rejected" with instructions. Followed the steps. No visible change to my return or refund. Re-filed at 3:34 PM.
At 3:34 PM (within 30 seconds of filing), got the "In Progress" email.
At 3:35 PM, got a text saying my state return was rejected (but given the timing, I think that was for the previous attempt, the 3:10 PM email. Still, not happy about that.)
At 3:38 PM, reopened TurboTax and re-checked status - it now shows "Pending" again.
And now we wait...
I don’t know why I would have to resubmit if none of the deductions or credits were on my original return. I got an email and resubmitted. Not too optimistic about this.
Because the software had a bug in it before, causing the earlier submit attempt to be "Broken". The software update fixed the bug, but you have to re-file to send the corrected data.
I just received an email saying it was a software error and was then directed a link to refile. I just re-filed and now it says "pending".
Now this is the SECOND attempt at filing due to Turbo Tax software error (see attached screenshots)...Lets see how this goes.....
I got an email today from Turbotax saying my CA return was rejected due to an error in their software. I clicked on the link and basically just resubmitted everything. I did not change anything. What is going on? I should get my money back for the inconvenience. This is not cool. I was waiting for this money.
Yah. Same here. Got the rejection email. This is the downloaded version. Checked for updates and they were none as it had updated this morning. Ran error check and resubmitted and now in the "Pending" mode again.
Just got another email..Looks like it SHOULD be accepted on the 20th....
To those who are getting rejection letter recently, I too just got one today, after being in the dreaded Pending mode since 2/12. Basically, you sign back into your account, and the software will take you to your State tax. You are not fixing anything on your end, it's their software that needed updating (or screwed up). In the end, all you are doing is refiling your State tax and not putting in any new numbers. As of right now, I'm back at the Pending stage with a February 20th (possible) Acceptance date.
Update... I got another rejection email 20 min after the first one. So I went in again to try to “fix” the return and again, nothing to fix. Re-filed and now it’s pending once again. I sure hope this goes through now...
Like others, I received an email stating that TurboTax had a software error and I had to re-file CA State again. I followed the instructions and it now says "Pending" again. Hopefully it'll go through within the next 24-48 hours this time. We should get compensation for the time we've had to put into researching this issue and correcting TURBOTAX's mistake.
Finally got my rejection email "due to an error in their software" as many others have.
This worried me, but I've been using turbo tax for so many years with no issues and others were experiencing the same issue, not just me. Obviously, there was an issue with turbo tax and not the returns itself for the most part. I'm not going to ask for my money back, or make a big deal. Issue fixed, it happens.
"Due to a software error" yet they are still telling customers that the state rejected the return. You just can't make this up. LOL Anyway... I got my rejection email finally.... now I'm back in the pending holding pattern hoping for the best.
