Why would CA state return still show as pending after 2 days?

In past years the CA state return was accepted in minutes, it has now been two days.

I'm closing this thread. 
Many transmission hiccups have been resolved. 

If your return is still "pending" 48 hours after e-filing, please send me a private message. It's also been reported that the IRS tracking tool is seeing delays.
I'll try to get to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and kindness!

Same here; my wife and I filed minutes apart - hers accepted within hours but mine is pending 6 days now...somethings up.

Got a message this morning my California was rejected due to issues with the turbotax software and that the issue should be fixed today.

Hmmm was this via email? I haven't received any message but I did get a call from a lady at the office of turbo tax president...she is suppose to call me back today

yep, got the email about my CA getting rejected this morning and went and checked online and this was the reason that was given.

I contacted the state of California Franchise Tax Board and they had no record of my state taxes being filed, even though TurboTax said it is pending.  The state of CA FTB said they have received numerous calls about the pending state tax returns from TurboTax.

Having the same issue, Federal return was accepted, State return seems to be in limbo. It did say to check 24-48 hours AFTER the Federal return is accepted. It's been way longer thus far. Intuit MUST KNOW there is an issue, as my returns have traditionally been accepted very quickly as well.

I just checked the status of my federal return and my refund is approved with payment set for tomorrow. If there was something legitimately “wrong” with my return, then why did the IRS finish reviewing and approving my return?

It’s an error on the CA540 form for most folks.  So wouldn’t impact your federal submission.  Still pending here as well.  TT is the worst

I have the same exact problem. My federal has already processed, but my state is still pending. I've used TurboTax for many years and never had this issue. The problem is probably due to a software glitch with TurboTax they need to fix this as soon as possible. If anyone gets resolution to this problem please post

I am having this exact same issue - @GabiU  why is there so much conflicting information about what is going on? As of today my CA state refund is still "pending" - my federal refund was accepted on 2/11 and both were filed at the exact same time.

 

I have not received an email from Turbo Tax saying that there may have been an error with a form, or entry, or that TurboTax is re-reviewing my state taxes - I have just been sitting here for a week now waiting for you to submit my state taxes.

 

It is mind-blowing that as if this post there are 163 other posts from your customers having this issue, with absolutely no useful information being shared. I have been a TurboTax customer for years, but if this is the sort of service we can expect when paying a premium price I am going to have to rethink using your product in the future.

Businesses have to understand that you are only as good as the service you provide when issues surface.  It sounds like this is the first time most of us has experienced issues with our returns at turbo tax.  This is the worst year for this to happen to hardworking people.  I don't qualify for a stimulus check; which I know is irrelevant but first the IRS makes up some phony bologna excuse to delay the start of the season and now Turbotax can't get their act together.

I emailed the CEO of Intuit right after making my last post. received an email back almost immediately stating that my email was being forwarded to the "Office of the President". Shortly after that, I received this popular response:

"We know how important your refund is to you and we apologize for any delay. 

 

Unfortunately, we noticed something in your tax return that may have caused it to be rejected. Your return will currently show as “Pending” while we do an extra review to assess the reason it was flagged, resolve it for you, or identify what you need to do to ensure everything is accurate and your return is accepted.

 

We will send you an email within 48 hours with confirmation that your return has been filed, or instructions for any additional steps that need to be taken to ensure an accurate return is accepted, and you receive every dollar you deserve.  

 

We apologize again that this has caused a delay in receiving your refund.

It's day 3 for me and I'm still waiting also. From what gather from this convo , it sounds like s combination of CA delays and a glitch in Turbo tax!

I am having the exact same issue here.  Does anyone know any solution available to fix it?  As my CA return status is pending, how can I trigger a resubmit from turbotax side?

^Agreed, just sit tight till tomorrow!  If it's as simple as receiving a "rejection" and rerunning and/or making corrections then resubmitting we should be good.  But TT hasn't been transparent in the matter and that's all it would've taken to ease customer concerns.

In my case it was an error in the insurance penalty form, on Turbo Taxes part.  They sent me a text, and email this morning after CA rejected my return. Took two minutes to log on and correct. Check your email.

I was one of the first who contacted TT president office and did get a response back (call) and said she will call me back once this is sorted out by today.

 

Now I see people finally getting their returns rejected from CA to fix but I am still pending, no email received .....unbelievable

Nope! No email. No updates.  Still pending still so answers since feb 5th
