Why is SBTPG holding refunds?

Yep they're holding them for unusual activity that they won't verify so they can collect interest in their bank accounts that they open up... Pretty scammy.

I agree 100%. We didn't choose to use SBTPG we chose TurboTax, We paid the TurboTax fees and they are just as complicit as the bank THEY chose to use. They are definitely in on this scam to keep either some or all of the refunds they are supposed to be sending. Screw this company.

My refund was $322 short. IRS said they sent the whole thing. TurboTax said call the IRS and you can't get through to sbtpg. Its all a big scam. I think they are willingly committing fraud.

Oh they definitely are. Turbo Tax is aware too but they apparently can not contact them cus of security reasons... Seems sketchy since they send our refunds there. And if you try to get the BBB Involved with SBTPG they won't reply to you anymore lol because they know they're being unethical. Super sketchy.

Finally got my refund today was supposed to be 03/07 and it hit on 03/15. So they're definitely either holding them for interest or just taking their time for no reason known to us. Thank God. I won't be filing with them anymore. Too much stress.

I haven’t received my check from them yet, and they have my money since 2/18

calling them is pointless, after 2 hours of being on hold they hang up on you. At this point I am going to police department and will file a fraud/ theft against this company and have them handle it from there. They have no right to hold our money and withhold/ hide information about it that is theft and should be punished by law. 
Will never again use their service.

@TomaG I never even thought to do that. I've filed complaints with several agencies but not a police report for theft. Please, let me know how that goes and what they say!

Also try the IRS and put a trace on it. Seems like after I did that I had to send them about five emails a day(no joke) until they released my money.

I was supposed to have mine the 24th but somehow what was supposed to be a direct deposit turned in to getting a check that I apparently can't have canceled since there was a mistake and it should have been made as a direct deposit but also no one can tell me when it'll even be mailed out so I now face potential eviction because of their error and inability to correct it or even tell me anything about it apparently it's ridiculous

Lmao how about you “turbo tax” reach out to them and ask them what the hold up is. We have all said that we have already called them but u continue not to listen. You reply with the same message all the time with BS. Stand up for us,  we have all paid you huge amounts of money to use your program which also says they will help in any way. So nows your chance . Get our money back. Quit commenting on here with the same BS and do something

@Caytray Please do sure your lawyers info. Ive had a hard time finding one that can handle a case like this, coming from a small town.
