I e-filed my taxes on Feb. 27 2021, at this point it has been almost 3 months. Ive called them multiple times, one said it will be here March 29, another said she couldn't provide that info, the other two said I just need to wait. Three said its been sent to errors and corrections. Ive been waiting. The IRS wheres my refund tool has said the same thing for 2 months "Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available". My entire family and all my friends got theres in less than two weeks. I don't know what to do anymore. I tried the tax adovocate service, they said they couldn't help me. I'm at my wits end. I'm behind on rent, my car payment, my student loans, I am relying on this money. Can anyone help me?

All you can do now is, wait. At least you know that the IRS has your filing. It does not matter who sent your 1040 to the IRS. The IRS is the sole destination for tax returns. No one has discovered a way to make the IRS speed up sending out refunds. No one ever will because the IRS is an overwhelmed, over worked, under funded and under staffed government bureaucracy. Eventually you will get the pay off of your no interest loan to the government.
Have you thought of paying just enough by estimates or withholding to avoid a penalty and let the government wait for your check?
You and me both. I finally see my refund in my bank account and instead of $735, its $562.29 ?
I have not gotten any letters or anything from the IRS about a "haircut", so how do i find out what's going on? Even if Intuit took out filing fees, there's no way its $173 to file?
@JohnnyU9876 Did you have the fees deducted from your refund? There is an Extra $40 Refund Processing Service charge (45 in California) for that.
And federal and state refunds come separately. At the end Turbo Tax just shows you the net federal and state combined. But that is only for your info.
Hi, and thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, the amount "missing" is one hundred seventy-three dollars. Are fees really that high? 🙂
Thanks,
John
