If it has been over 12 weeks since you mailed the return, you can contact the IRS to find out the status of return. Otherwise the IRS will contact you by mail if they need any further information. See the IRS FAQ's for amended tax returns - https://www.irs.gov/filing/individuals/amended-returns-form-1040-x/amended-return-frequently-asked-q...
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 4 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.
Or you can contact your local IRS office. See this IRS website for local IRS offices - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Contact-Your-Local-IRS-Office-1 or call 1-844-545-5640 to set up an appointment
Or you may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area. See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate in your area and a toll free number - http://www.irs.gov/Advocate/Local-Taxpayer-Advocate

It just means your return is between departments ... when it lands somewhere and they update your status then a new message ... patience will be needed.
At first it was Letting me check my Amendent return now its say my information don’t match they records
Whatever happened did you receive your refund in how long did it take
@Layla05 It's best to continue to keep an eye on it through the IRS website.
You can also call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. Their operations have currently changed. They are keeping everyone up to date on their website.

When the web site suddenly has no info that simply means your return is being moved between departments and is not currently in the system ... this is normal ... try back every couple of days for further updates.
Mine are doing the same thing, its been 16 weeks since I filed, now the last 4 days its telling me my information doesn't match. How long do they normally take to update when it reaches a new dept?
Since Covid hit last year amended returns can take 6 months or much longer ... some 2019 returns took over a year. Just check the IRS site once a week for a possible progress update :
Hello, just wondering if this ever got resolved, I ammended a tax return and it was showing as being accepted and this morning I checked and it says my Information doesn’t match when it’s the same information I’ve been using. Thank you
