What does amend mean?

When you amend a return, you make changes to the return but only after the original return has been e-filed and accepted by the IRS or after the return has been mailed if filing a paper return. My Federal Tax were accepted and State Tax reads as follows:  "Amended Ready to Mail"

2. Thus far, I have not mailed in my states taxes and would prefer to e-fire. How do I change mail to e-file?
